Campanet

Campanet is an inland village in the northwest of the island, at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. The hilltop location offers visitors a spectacular view of the Pla de Mallorca, the sea and the mountains. The municipality also includes other places with a landscape of extraordinary beauty, such as the Sant Miquel valley and the Pla de Tel, where most of accommodation facilities are located.

The village is home to a wide range of elements of historical interest: the parish church of Sant Miquel, dating back to the 18th century; the Sala Vella, probably of medieval origin; manors and traditional houses; and the boundary crosses that in the past marked the limits of the village.

In the surroundings it is worth visiting the caves of Campanet, one of the best preserved on the island; the Gothic hermitage of Sant Miquel, built after the Catalan conquest in the 13th century; the llogaret (hamlet) of Ullaró and the natural monument of the Ufanes fountains, situated on the public property of Gabellí Petit. These springs originate intermittently when heavy rainfall and significant accumulation of water in the subsoil occur: water then makes its way to the surface, giving rise to one of the most unique phenomena in the Serra de Tramuntana.
