Consell

Inland municipality located in the Raiguer region. The town centre starts at the Plaça Major, on one of the highest points in the town, where the two most important buildings are found: the parish church of Nostra Senyora de la Visitació and the Casa de la Vila (Town Hall).
The predominant agricultural landscape is that of typical dryland crops: cereals, almond trees and vines. Wine production is deeply rooted in the municipality, most local wines have the Binissalem Designation of Origin, and numerous wine cellars offer wine tastings and guided tours (booking required).
On Sunday mornings, in the industrial area of the town, one of the island's most popular and frequented flea markets for antiques and second-hand goods takes place: the Consell mercat dels encants. Besides antiques, there are also stalls selling handicrafts, food and drinks. Also in the village, there are craftsmen who produce espadrilles and knives typical of Mallorca, including the trinxet (curved knives).
The patron saint's feasts take place at the end of August, in honour of Sant Bartomeu, the patron saint of the town, and include cultural activities, popular dances, musical performances, etc.
