Platja de l'Oratori de Portals - Cala Portals Nous

Platja Oratori de Portals Nous or Cala Portals Nous is situated at 11 kilometres from Palma, between the eastern breakwater of Puerto Portals and Bendinat. This sandy area which is not too big is characterized by its fine-grained greyish sand and in front of the coast there is Illa d'en Sales, where you are not recommended to anchor because of the sandbanks and rocks toward south and west. The best option for anchoring boats is between the small island and the beach. In this area there is a sandy ground with seaweed and a depth of three metres. On the eastern side of Platja Oratori de Portals Nous there are some rocks which emerge from the water and which you have to avoid. The navigators consider that Puerto Portals is one of the best infrastructures of the Balearic archipelago and Europe, where you can find some of the most beautiful and expensive boats of the Mediterranean basin, some of the best restaurants of the Balearic Islands and some popular night clubs ideal for young people who live here or visit Majorca. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car can be left on a free parking area next to the beach. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located next to the beach. These characteristics explain that the beach is very crowded by local visitors and tourists.
