Marine reserves

Marine reserves are protected areas in which the uses and exploitation of the marine environment are regulated in order to promote the natural regeneration of fisheries resources and conserve the most representative marine ecosystems.

Mallorca has 6 marine reserves: the Bay of Palma (Cala Blava, Santa Marta, Maioris and Son Verí), Migjorn (Cala Figuera, Colònia de Sant Jordi, Marquès del Palmer and S'Estanyol), l'illa del Toro (the island of el Toro, Calvià), les illes Malgrats (the islands of Malgrats, Calvià), Llevant (Artà) and es Freu de sa Dragonera (Sant Elm).
